Women are Taking over Your Ballots in 2018!
When you arrive at the ballot in November, you will notice a lot more women running for office than before. According to Rutgers’s Center for American Women and Politics, a record number of women won their primary races. Below are a few of the women of color running for office. Note, this isn’t an endorsement. The purpose of this #BarRaisingMemo is to uplift these women of color and to bring awareness to their campaigns. Personally, I’m still trying to figure out the impact when we elect people that look like us in this crazy, political climate (especially on the federal level). Does it matter, YES! How and to what extent? I’m not sure. I do know we need A CHANGE and a more diverse legislature that truly represents our county.
Check out their websites. Research their platforms and interests. Just do it. :-)
